Greater mimic is a type of monster in ADOM. Like lesser mimics they take on the appearance of items until they are disturbed, and they have paralyzing attacks. The PC certainly has to watch for the latter when approaching these monsters, and paralyzation leaves him/her open to both attacks from the greater mimic and to any other monster that decides to join the fight. The player should not underestimate them for their low potential damage minimum.
Level: 1, DV: 14, PV: 10, Hits: 80, Attacks: 2, Damage: 4-20. Speed: 105.

You haven't known fear until you've been starving, spied a ration of food on the other side of the room, hovered over your salvation, and had this HUGE tentacle emerge from the thing and smack you upside the head, locking your muscles with some sort of toxin. All you can do is sit and watch as the food grows teeth and tries to eat YOU. Sure, you might survive, but you'll never trust another free meal again, and that's not the worst of it... The worst part is that these creatures can look like ANYTHING-- a potion, a scroll, armor, ANYTHING, and the greater mimics are so good at it you might never know what hit you.
