Ratling dealer is unique NPC who can be found at the bottom of the Rift. If he is 'c'hatted with, he will offer the PC a climbing set for a minimum of 50000 gold pieces. If the PC has more gold, dealer will always name the whole sum as a price. Note that it is possible to trick the dealer by simpling dropping all the excess gold. Finally, he doesn't drop the climbing set when killed, so there is no way to avoid the price completely.

This deal is a life saver for those players who ventured to the north-western region and somehow lost their climbing set and are thus unable to return back. Extreme caution should be used on the bottom level of the Rift dungeon, as ratling dealer will be generated neutral and prone to death from other inhabitants of the level. Therefore, using a scroll of monster detection and performing an immediate teleport to his location is advised. Note that ratling dealer will only offer one climbing set.

Ratling dealers can be wished for and will act as the original one (offering one climbing set for the same price). However, they can be generated hostile and won't trade in this case; Calm Monster spell can help. It is more practical to simply wish for climbing sets to receive multiple items without losing 50000 gold pieces.

Игровое описание (Monster memory)[править | править исходный текст]

His home is the bottom of a very deep rift. With his dark gray cloak, he almost seems to be part of the shady dungeon where he likes to go about his business, so don't slay him by mistake -- you might need him! He knows about the relationship between supply and demand, and as he enjoys the trading monopoly for a vital commodity, his prices are far from moderate. But if you are very poor (or very clever), he might make a special offer and only ask the lowest possible price.
