The spiked armor of chaos and terror is an artifact armor that first appeared in ADOM v 1.2.0.


Wearing the armor provides a 8 increase to Strength, immunity to fire, and resistances to cold and acid. It also spreads terror -- which has the same effect as the unholy aura corruption.


In its unidentified form, it appears as a spiked full plate armor.

With a massive boost to PV and an amazing Strength boost, the spiked armor of chaos and terror is certainly the best armor in the game. Whilst the PV boost is not quite as high as that supplied by moloch armor, its portability is far greater and its penalties far less severe.


The only main downside to wearing the armor is that it spreads terror -- which not only causes foes to flee in fear, but can make encountered shopkeepers hostile. It is at least much easier to remove at will than the unholy aura corruption... though not quite as easy to repeatedly take off and put on again as the Crowned spiked helmet of chaos lordship or Foeslammer. Still, not a major problem. It is also extremely heavy; though with the Strength boost it provides on top of the typically huge Strength of Chaos Knights, this shouldn't usually be too much of a problem either

It is a possible crowning gift for Chaos Knights; given the nature of the artifact, it is likely that it cannot be generated for any other PCs.

The spiked full plate armor is actually a blessed spiked armor of chaos and terror
(-6, -12) [-6,  35] {St 8}.
It is an artifact.

When worn it modifies DV by -6 and PV by  35.
When used in melee combat it grants a -6 bonus to hit and causes 1d10
points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a -12 bonus to hit 
and causes 1d10 points of damage.

It modifies your strength attribute by  8.
It spreads terror. It grants resistance to cold.
It grants resistance to acid.
It grants immunity to fire.
